I LOVE your take on the traditional red, white & blue pallette! It's also really nice to see a button that's more about telling people to vote thatn it is about one candidate over another. It's a real bi-partisan button. This is a 5 if I've EVER seen one.

The irony here, of course, is that the Founding Fathers did not create a democracy, but a Constitutional representative republic. The FF recognized that democracy is nothing but mob rule. Democracy was looked down upon, and democrat was an epithet for one who caters to the masses. So, no...this would not make the FF smile.

Wrong. I received an email from Thomas Jefferson just the other day. Here is a snippet:

"...ZOMG!!!1!1 Im SO excited about the election! I srsly hope evry1 votes. 4 real. It wud totally make me smile. Srsly. Do u wunna git sum fud latrz??? kthnkxbye - TJAY"

so - as you can see, Thomas Jefferson does, in fact, relish the concept of voting. John Adams shares his sentiment. (he also expressed his regrets regarding his views shared in Thoughts on Government)

Really though - I guess the point isn't so much that the founding fathers established the current concept of a democratic vote, so much as they helped to establish America (and what has become a "one adult = one vote" system) and would want the country to thrive. The message is more like "You have a responsibility as a citizen to vote and, perhaps, help America to thrive."

Unfortunately, that was 1)too long and 2) not as catchy.
